A Prayer for the Quick Return of Ogyen Kusum Lingpa Rinpoché

[1] O excellent Buddha, the supreme savior, and sovereign Ogyen,

Your children, the assembly of Noble Ones, and all objects of refuge,

Pray come here to bear witness; attend to our sorrowful plea

And grant us your powerful blessings.

[2] Our kind Guru who was most skilled at leading beings

To the Jewel Island of Buddha’s Threefold Embodiment,

Through revealing the profound meaning of the enlightened intention

Of conqueror Ogyen’s revealed treasures, may his reincarnation come soon.

[3] O the assembly of vajra Dharma protectors,

The ferocious who remain majestic in the art of wrathfulness,

Who are pledged to and abide by the command of Yangsang Pema,

May your enlightened activity fulfilling our aspirations never shun us.

This prayer for the quick return of the lama of Lungnon monastery of Golok, Tumdrak Dorje, known also as Ogyen Kusum Lingpa, was composed at the request of his spiritual children Chösang and Rinchen Sangpo. It was written by the Buddhist monk the Dalai Lama on 27 May 2009.
